We have been somewhat remiss about keeping our website up to date, probably because we are always busy dancing and playing?
We are going to make a big effort to keep you all informed about where and when we are performing and how fantastic we are (goes without saying really!)
Briefly we started the year off with our Plough Monday meal at The Black Horse, Endon. Couple of dances (enough for anyone!) then time to eat drink and be merry.
February saw us dancing before the performance of The Demon Barbers in The Lock Inn at The Clonter Theatre just outside Congleton – freezing cold night but fantastic performance from a number of Morris sides and of course the amazing and massively talented cast. If you get chance go to see the show.
Locally we danced at a home for the elderly, probably more rewarding for us really, than residents, although a few joined in (they did have their own sticks) and we have been practising on Thursday nights at Tunstall Methodist Church and Centre 7pm-9pm.
Our Molly Band have been making a name for themselves and getting chance to play tunes that we don’t dance to! They are a very talented group of musicians and recently played at Penkhull Folk Festival, where they treated all present to a variety of tunes, songs and amazing instrumental solos.
We will update the calendar soon….
But in the meantime, dance out dates coming up are 4th May at Rode Hall Farmers Market, 11th May for Leek Day of Dance, weekend of 18th May Moira Canal Festival and weekend of 31st May at Uttoxeter Acoustic Festival www.acousticfestival.co.uk
So that’s got everyone up to date and us wondering how we manage to fit everything in! We are most definitely Alive and Dancing!!
